The Official Brent Website
It's been a while!
It has been quite some time since I've updated this website, and I just wanted to pop in and update you as to some up-and-coming projects. Firstly, my goal for this site is to fully integrate my livejournal into it, so that essentially this page would contain the entries from my livejournal, instead of these periodic announcements. Secondly, Battle Fishies 2.0 is currently in the developmental stages. This is more of a long term project, but one that I hope will bring more visitors to the site. Lots of people have the original Battle Fishies posted to their blogs and myspace accounts, and it feels good to have contributed something, however small, to the vast internet macrocosm. Lastly, I will be tweaking the content and user interface of this site over the next few months, adding new pages and modifying and/or removing current pages. Be on the lookout, and if you have any comments, please feel free to email me.
Songs page
Just a quick update. I switched up the songs and cover songs pages, moving the older stuff (2002 through mid 2004) off onto their own, slightly more obscure page. Unfortunately, this has left my songs page relatively devoid of interesting content. I hope to remedy this in the upcoming weeks as I add new musical content to the site. Watch my journal for the latest updates!
Updates soon!
New songs (original pieces) posted soon! I already posted them over at my journal, to a marginal amount of fanfare and success. I Love Pumpkin Pie and the OMG XMAS story will appear on a newly designed "Music" page that will replace the current "Cover Songs" page. As it stands right now, that page pretty much just contains a lot of old, outdated songs I did that I'll probably be sued for someday. Doing original work is much cooler, and far more rewarding. Anyhow, check for updates of the above nature in the next few days! Until then, go rewatch my old flash animations. I've got another one of those in the works as well! 2005 is going to be a good year for me, creatively. I'm looking forward to the future.
New Layout
2004 baby!

I started this site back in the middle of 2002 in the hopes that it would be a place to store my creative outpourings and also that it would be a nifty website with which to impress the ladies. Well, I believe that it's performed it's job fairly well, although I've never updated it nearly as much as I should. I'm not promising that that's going to change now, but at the very least, I'm giving things a makeover.

If you'd ever visited my site before, you'll remember this layout. (note that most of those links won't work, as I just copied the index page to a new directory.) Well, as you can see, I've spruced things up around here a bit. This new design, as with the previous one, sports a 100% CSS based layout. No tables or other strangeness muddling up the pure XHTML 1.1. This means, of course, that a lot of older browsers won't display this page properly. If you're using a really old browser like, say, Netscape 4, you need to upgrade right away. If you can read this, though, you're probably not running Netscape 4. I think I might be preaching to the choir. Anyhow, all recent browsers that I've tested this layout with have displayed it perfectly.

So what's next for this domain? After the success of Battle Fishies, I'd kinda' like to make another little web-game or 'meme' of some sort. I'm not too sure when I'll find the time, though. I would also like to record some more music, but nobody ever listens to those, anyhow. I think maybe I need to make flash animations to go along with them. Everybody loves flash animations! I think the songs I've done are quite funny in their own right, but maybe they just need a little more exposure - just, not so much exposure that I get sued by some musical artist with a sore ego. I think doing Hurt in a major key was quite clever. Just because I can't sing, play an instrument, or hold a beat doesn't mean that I shouldn't be able to do cover songs. Everybody loves cover songs!

I really don't know what the future has in store for my website, but either way, thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay.
